Ok next stop on the Australian Poker Tournament schedule for me was in Adelaide.
But before we get to that I am officially allowed to announce that I am now a Full Tilt Red Pro!!!!!
Whoooohoooooo! I have been working really hard on my results and my profile especially on the live scene and to say that I am excited about the sponsorship would be an understatement.
Anyway the excitement must have clouded my mind and I suddenly think that everything is fun and exciting. So I come up with the idea of a roadtrip to Adelaide rather than flying! I know it is crazy especially as it is a really boring drive. To make matters worse we cram 3 of us (myself, Jamie and Fabian (one of Jamie's clients from Germany and now friend)) into my small Mitsubishi Mirage. Now if you know anything about cars you would find it hard to picture being comfortable with all three of us in the car for a 9 hr drive but add to that all our luggage, laptops, and Jamie's Golf clubs and the picture gets worse.
We head off early in the morning and the boys are tired so I volunteer to drive first. BIG Mistake. Fabian is not comfortable driving the manual in a strange country and Jamie decides 2 hours into the drive that he does not feel that well. Anyway I convince Jamie to have a turn and he drives for less than 1 hr before saying he feels too sick to drive. In the end I end up driving the entire way less Jamies dismal effort of 50 mins.
Not really good preparation for a tournament but we get there safely and I decide that I will be ready to play the main event the following day.
I bust out of the main event the following day but we are stuck in Adelaide because Jamie has work with his Golf Clients.
I try to find some fun in this City and end up going Karting with some of the poker boys. This is my second time Go Karting and there are 4 boys and 1 girl and who ends up winning the Go Karts! Yes me of course. The guy running the track comes up to me and is very impressed with my Karting skills. Maybe I could be a Red Pro/ Go Karter????? Anyway just for the purpose of name and shame the boys who lost where:
Brendon Rubie
Kristian Lunardi
Andy Hinrichsen and
Liam O'Rourke
Shame shame shame
I went to the beach another day and thought about whether or not to play the high roller event later in the week. I decided against playing but I think they only got 12 runners anyway.
So to top off a boring week in Adelaide we had to drive home. Fabian was smart and got on a plane to visit Sydney. I thought seriously about trying to sell the car and get on the plane myself but in the end we just sucked it up and headed back home.
P.S I am sorry that this blog is boring but what can I do.
the drive was boring
the poker was boring
and yes I hate to admit it but Adelaide was boring.
I have drove to adelaide a few times, it is a long boring drive.. lol. And i drove from Ballarat! my hometown!
